How does Botox work?
Botox causes muscle relaxation by blocking secretion of a required enzyme (acetylcholine) needed for muscle contraction. Without the actions of acetylcholine the muscle does not contract and wrinkling of the overlying skin does not occur. How long does Botox® last?
You may begin to see the results of your Botox injections soon after your treatment. These results will continue to improve over the course of about 1 month. As with any cosmetic procedure, the actual results of Botox varies from person to person. Typically results last anywhere from three to six months.

What are the side effects of Botox?
The most common side effects of Botox include headache and redness and/or swelling at the injection site. These symptoms are mild and typically resolve within a few hours after your treatment. There are rare cases where flu-like symptoms, muscle weakness around the injection, and drooping of the eyelids have been reported. These symptoms resolved within a few days after treatment.
